In the late 19th century the Prussian Death’s Head Hussars Light Cavalry Bearskin Busby’s reached the height of their popularity. The Hussar’s Busby is, in effect, a shako covered by fur. The busby was primarily worn by cavalrymen (thus, the name), although the busby is not to be confused with the bearskin which has a rounded top and is much taller.
