Indigo-Dyed Cotton from Sakon Nakhon Province

Sakon Nakhon is famed for its local expertise of indigo dye, which has surpassed down through generations. Villagers use the mudmee method and different weaving strategies to create beautiful styles. Due to the flexibility of the material and the near resemblance to denim, indigo from Sakon Nakon has become increasingly famous. In Thai, Indigo (Indigofera tinctoria) – referred to as Khram. Broadly grown along the Songkhram River that originates in Udon Thani which then snakes through to Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, and Bueang Khan.
